The formerly City-owned municipal parking lot will be redeveloped into a mixed-use destination that will provide housing, community space, public open space, and retail opportunities for the community.

The proposed $850 million Flushing Commons project includes:

  • 1.5 acre open space with a fountain plaza.
  • Approximately 600 residential units.
  • Approximately 500,000 square feet of commercial space, including local and national restaurants and retailers, as well as office space.
  • 62,000 square feet YMCA facility.
  • 15,000 square feet of additional community facility space.
  • Parking for 1,600 cares at below market rates for several years of initial operations.
